Feed the Hungry
August 23, 2010
Mother Teresa once said, "If you can't feed a hundred people, then just feed one."
On our own, Quest is not able to feed a hundred people... but we can feed more than just one. A group from Quest will be volunteering at Harvester's preparing food packages to be distributed to those in need.
Hunger knows no season. In the current economic environment, the problem of hunger is growing. Forty percent of households turning to Harvesters include at least one adult who is working. Rising food and energy prices make it difficult for working families to make ends meet. Imagine having to look into your hungry child's eyes as you explain to them there is nothing to eat.
You can help us feed the hungry by joining with us at Harvester's on September 18. If you can't be with us, you can participate in our Virtual Food Drive (watch for details).
Harvesters and its network of agencies provide a helping hand to tens of thousands of people in need every week.

In addition to providing emergency food assistance, Harvesters is also committed to developing long-term solutions to hunger. As the voice of the hungry in our community, Harvesters takes the lead to educate the general public, local business leaders and all levels of government about hunger and what they can do to help alleviate the problem.
