We have compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions we receive. If you don't find the answer you seek, click here.
1. How large is your congregation?
If you want a large congregation, we're not it. Our vision is to have a continuously growing congregation… reaching out to all people, sharing a vital relationship to God through Jesus Christ. When we reach 200 people, our desire is to send a portion of our community to plant a new congregation as the Spirit leads.2. What kind of church are you?
Quest may feel unique to many of first time visitors, and in one sense, we are! But we’re actually one of hundreds of exciting, creative “emerging churches” worldwide that are passionately committed to sharing the age-old love of God and the timeless truths of Christian faith in a way that impacts and transforms people in their lives today. No matter where you are on your spiritual and relationship journey, if you're humble enough to take a serious look at yourself and trusting enough to believe that God's vision for your life is clearer than yours, you'll find life starts to make a lot more sense -- and looks a whole lot bigger -- than you could have ever asked for or imagined! We meet every Sunday at 10:30am at 228 NW McNary Court in Lee's Summit. Click herefor details.4. How long will the service last?
Worship Services at Quest typically last 60-70 minutes.
5. Will I fit in with your congregation?
6. Will I have to say anything, sign anything, give anything, or be singled out in any way?The members of Quest are diverse but all of them hold true to the mission and principles we believe in. All are welcome and invited to participate in our quest for meaning and purpose.
Our family of faith ranges in age from young to old.We could be considered casual, but this really just means people wear what they are comfortable in at church (and in public!). So ties or T-shirts are welcome. Please come as you are. God doesn't judge books by their covers, and neither do we.Our Worship Services are both historic and contemporary; and messages very biblical, yet relevant to 21st century life.
Worship begins with the whole family together. For the first 30 minutes or so we will enjoy the high-energy opening worship set and participate in Holy Communion. Then children will depart for an exciting 40-minute children's program called Kidz Quest. We offer nursery, children's programs, and adult small groups. And we like to laugh!
At Quest, you'll never be put on the spot, never singled-out, and never embarrassed. You won't be asked to participate in the offering. You don't have to sign anything or register your attendance in any way (unless you place your child in our children's ministry - for your child's security, we'll need to get some basic information). Our hope is that you'll let the service be God’s hand reaching out to you and that you'll know we're here for you if you want to connect.7. Is this a Christian church...or something else?
Though non-traditional in style, Quest is deeply committed to the eternal truths of the Christian faith, and the historically orthodox articulations of faith in the triune God. We are an independent church affiliated with the Willow Creek Association and deeply rooted in Lutheran understanding of the Christian faith. We seek to be a 1st century church in the 21st century.
